2023-February-15 - Lower Level construction stages
Proposed build stages have been uploaded for the lower level; download here in zip file format. Contains images and a Sketchup 3-D file These may still be modified slightly, and I haven't decided if 2 or 2.5 will be the interim before stage 3, but the broad approach is fairly solid.
2023-February-09 - Electrical Layout Plan of main house
Electrical Plan Layout for the main house; download here in pdf format. Latest changes have been made and should be final...hopefully I won't change them again.
2022-July-1 - Permit and Structural Plans, as submitted for Building Permits, are now available
- The architect's permit plans is a .zip file (852kb) containing 2 .pdf files that can be viewed using any standard .pdf tool (e.g. Adobe Reader). These files show overheads of the three levels and sectional views of the elevation.
- The structural permit plans is a .zip file (6.7mb) containing 3 .pdf files that can be viewed using any standard .pdf tool (e.g. Adobe Reader). These files show technical details of the foundation, materials, even how the rebar is supposed to be bent. Not for the faint of heart.
Most of the new images I have created are larger than they appear on the page and if you use the right-click, "open image in new tab" option you can see them larger (and use the browser scaling options) and also use you own image app to view if you save them off first. This is particularly true of the "plan" images which are vector graphic based and will not lose resolution when scaled up.
Not all plan images and views have been completely revised yet...about 80% done...but the major feature changes are there - the fine details will come soon.
The main feature that is not depicted at all in my views is the stairway to the bridge. The main entrance (east side of the property) will have a walkway that continues to the back side of the lower-level and then turns into a stairway connected to the back wall that ends when it meets the "bridge" between the house and the mirador (roof patio). The slope is such that the level of the house floor is the same as the mirador and the connecting bridge is level, not sloped
The architect's 3d views (8mb) are SketchUp files (.skp) that can be viewed using a number of free tools; a Mac & Windows viewer is available at https://sketchup.com/products/sketchup-viewerhttps://storage.googleapis.com/dbm-web-downloadss - although other tools are available.
Previous concept plans and 3D views have been removed
Plans and view images will be added/updated when they have been revised to completely match the new architect's layouts, or when I get the urge to "re-decorate". In any case, these new concept plans/images are mainly to visualize the room decorations and furniture layout -- the architect drawings are the real deal.
I will still be using the free software called Sweet Home 3D to create the concept drawings. I'll also add links and images from various sites to give real world samples - example, laundry tub
For those who might want to use the Sweet Home 3D software, the website is at http://sweethome3d.com
...and the files are The complete house (3 levels) (11.7mb) and The Upper Garden (1.1mb)
Agua Escondida Association Rules
The latest association rules I could find are from 2012. I got them from the Agua Escondida website - before it disappeared - a couple years ago.
As far as I know they really are the last, but at any rate, there are a few sections related to construction and getting approval, etc. that might be helpful.
Even if they have changed over the years, I suspect they are a good starting point.
The following link will download the Agua Escondida Association Rules in spanish as a PDF file.
