September 29, 2022 - Front retention wall near completion
Sometimes I think this looks like an archaeological dig
The top of the front retaining wall is actually where the base of the house floor/foundation will sit.
Sure am glad that there are plenty of rocks for 'free'
...the retaining walls are massive
The notches at the ends and center are for re-enforced columns that will be tied into both the retaining wall and the house foundation
Strength to handle earthquakes...did I mention we had an earthquake a couple weeks ago?
They'll finish up the stairs to the upper garden after the area behind the back retaining wall is filled-in
That's not a really big first step; that's the ground level after the interior fill is done.
The big rocks we keep and figure out something to do with them.
The small chips we'll use for fill.
