February 9, 2023 - Lower Structure, Entrance Stairs and Walkway
Bricks for the boveda ceiling haven't come yet, so the ceiling work is delayed.
Workshop/Office foundation ready
Old aljibe is gone, back wall completed as far as needed to work on entrance
path/stairs.
New aljibe will be under the floor of the "installations" room to the right of the workshop
Cleanup of the lower Garage area, reviewing prep on entrance above
"Bridge" from house to mirador on lower level revised; will be a wider "walkway"
The stairway will now have an extra "landing"
Allows an exit of the stairs at garden level before more stairs to meet up at the walkway.
The landing exit will be about where Eduardo Sr. is standing.
Stairway retaining wall on right complete to first landing
Stairs will be 1m wide and steps 16cm high. The dark area just before the guy with a shovel
in the background with the rebar sticking up is part of foundation prep for the walkway and
stairs from house entrance landing to the west pathway.
Mortar mixed by hand, delivered in buckets
The guy in the background is the mixer. He is standing where the pathway
from the front entrance will meet up with the stairway currently being built.
Looks like it's going to be 6 steps, not 5, based on the new layout
From the landing in front of the main entrance, to the west-side path.
More shallow steps, rather than fewer higher ones
Rendering at the end of "Stage 1" of the lower level.
The revised walkway from the house to the lower level roof will be wider than shown;
about 3m instead of 2m. Work on the lower level will pause after stage 1
to concentrate on completing the main house enough to move in.
