Roof beams bricked-in, retaining wall completed
Retaing wall completed to current lower level wall point, will extend somewhat further
when the lower level is expanded. The utility room wall header on the stairway side is
done

Getting ready to mortar the roof ends
With all the bricks having been laid in the metal beams,
now a mesh is being installed over them before the mortar is applied.
Roof ends, a closer view
After the mortar is done on the ends, the final seal coat will be applied, top and
ends.
The "roof" is essentially complete and waterproof then;
tiles on the roof are mostly decorative and add an air-gap thermal barrier
Kitchen shelf around the cabinets
I liked having a shelf above the kitchen cabinets where I'm living now, so I decided
to have one in the new house. It will be 30cm deep instead of the 25cm I currently
have.
